Barça 36-32 Dynamo Bucharest: Joy at the Palau

Catalans keep top spot in Champions Group B as they see off Romanian opposition on Thursday night

The Palau Blaugrana always makes victory so much sweeter. The Super Globe may have ended in disappointment but play at home and there’s no stopping the Barça handball team, who stretched their winning streak in the Champions League to 30 games at home, and 45 without defeat. The victims today were a Dynamo Bucharest side who were tough to quash but eventually went down by four goals to leave the Catalans top of Group B with six points.

With applause for the returns of Xavi Pascual, Alex Pascual and Cedric Sorhaindo it was Dika Mem who showed the way as the home side led 10-6 after the first quarter of an hour and by half time the lead had grown to five.

At one point brilliant defending meant Barça went as high as 27-18 but the Romanians found new life towards the end and managed to knock five goals away from the deficit.
