Clear win for Barça against Helvetia Anaitasuna

Xavi Pascual's side opened their league campaign with a 42-25 victory

Barça made an excellent start to the league season with a comprehensive victory at the Palau Blaugrana, besting Helvetia Anaitasuna 42-25 on Friday night. The winners of the Superglobe, Catalan Super Cup and Asobal Super Cup were dominant throughout.

Intensity

Xavi Pacual's men started the game with a high intensity. Ludovic Fabregas scored the opening goal and was the standout player in the first half, whilst Luka Cindric also impressed on his official debut and Kevin Möller impressed between the sticks. The first half ended 18-10.

A more even second half

The second half got underway with Anaitasuna far more attacking. Thankfully, the Barça defence shone in response, and in attack they remained fluid, before pulling away again past the 17th minute.

Möller was a protagonist in the final 30 minutes, scoring a goal as Barça extended their lead to the definitive 42-25.
