The FC Barcelona Women opened their season with a convincing 4-0 win against Granadilla Egatesa Tenerife on Sunday afternoon.
The Municipal de la Hoya del Pozo made life difficult for the Catalans in the opening period of the game as it hampered the team’s ability to get any sort of rhythm going in midfield. The home side was proving to be a threat in the first half from dead ball situations, but the Barça backline stood firm.
The team came to life in the second period however, as Jennifer Hermoso broke the deadlock in the 46th minute. Not before long, Barça made it 2-0 through Olga Garcia, before the same players scored a spectacular goal from the halfway line.
Irene del Rio then put the icing on the cake on 88 minutes to seal a comfortable win on the opening day.
