FC Barcelona Women will be heavily represented at the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony, with no fewer than 11 nominations. The award organisers, France Football and UEFA, have announced the candidates for each of the prizes to be presented in London on 26 October.

Best club in the world

The first nomination announced was for the best club in the world, and Barça Femeni are obvious contenders after winning every possible trophy in the 2025/26 season: the league, Copa, Super Cup and UEFA Women's Champions League.

Barça will be up against Bayern Munich, Club América, Manchester City and OL Lyonnes.

Pere Romeu nominated for best coach

Pere Romeu is also among the nominees. The Barça coach has been recognised as one of the best coaches of the season and will be in contention for the prestigious award in London on 26 October.

His rivals are Andrée Jeglertz (Manchester City), Nils Nielsen (Japan) and Elena Sadiku (Celtic/BK Häcken).

Cata up for best goalkeeper; Vicky and Serrajordi for Kopa Trophy

Cata Coll has also been nominated for the award recognising the best goalkeeper of the 2026/27 season. It is the second year that the Mallorca native has been in contention for the prize.

Meanwhile, Clara Serrajordi and Vicky López are both up for the Kopa Trophy, awarded to the best player under the age of 21. Vicky López won the prize last season, while Serrajordi is nominated in the category for the first time.

Six nominees for the main award

Finally, the 30-player shortlist for the Ballon d'Or has also been announced, with six Barça players included: Esmee Brugts, Cata Coll, Caroline Graham, Patri Guijarro, Ewa Pajor and Claudia Pina.

It is a first nomination for Brugts and Cata Coll, a second for Pina after 2025, a third for Graham after 2024 and 2025, and a fourth for Patri and Pajor, who were also nominated in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

FC Barcelona will therefore be very much in the spotlight at the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony. With the event being held in London for the first time, Barça Femeni will have the chance to receive recognition for what was a perfect season.
