The Barça women have continued their relentless charge through the league programme by putting seven goals past Valencia, and away from home. That’s eight wins out of eight, and today featured a hat-trick and brace is another triumphant display.
Mariona converted an Aitana assists after just one minute, and that was the tonic for the game ahead. Barça dominated and the only surprise was that it took almost half an hour before the same player scored the second, this time assisted by Graham Hansen.
And that’s when the floodgates opened. The Norwegian powered in a third, and then crossed to Oshoala for goal number four, and there was time for the Nigerian to make it 5-0 by the break.
Valencia battled to at least restore some honour in the second half, but with Oshoala missing a penalty and Pereira hitting the crossbar, the visitors were inevitably going to add to their lead eventually. Torrejón did just that on 55 minutes before a fine finish from Oshoala rounded off her hat-trick.
Barça have now scored 45 goals and conceded just one in the league. Simply incredible!
