Arda Turan looking forward to 'special' Clásico

The Turkish midfielder is feeling good ahead of the Barça v Real Madrid clash

On 2 April of this year, Arda Turan became the first Turkish player to represent FC Barcelona in El Clásico. The midfielder came on in the 74th minute to replace Ivan Rakitic. Now, in his second season with the blaugranes, he hopes again to be involved in what he calls “the most important game in the world.”

In an interview with FC Barcelona’s digital channels, the Turkish international admits “Clásicos are always tough, like all big matches.” He added: “It’s the most important game in the world and we want to enjoy it and win it at home”

Barça are the best team in the world and when we play we know we are unstoppable; I have a good feeling ahead of this Clásico.”

Arda Turan remembered his Turkish international team mate Hamit Altintop, the first player from that country to feature in a Clásico, in his case, for Real Madrid. “I hope, therefore, to become the first Turk to score in the Clásico,” joked the blaugrana midfielder.

Looking back on previous derbies with Real Madrid: “I would have liked to have taken part in the 5-0 win at Camp Nou or the 6-2 win in the Bernabéu, they were special matches. It would be great to meet in the Champions League final.” The famous trophy is the one that the Turk has yet to claim and he confessed: “That’s why I am here, to win that trophy!” See the complete video right here!
