RIVAL WATCH: Real Madrid's 40 game unbeaten run comes to an end against Sevilla at Sánchez Pizjuán

Leaders drop points as Barça stay third, while Draxler scores winner for PSG and Eibar beat struggling Sporting

A look at how FC Barcelona's main Champions League and LaLiga opponents got on this weekend:

Real Madrid lose it at the death

Sevilla have done it! League leaders Real Madrid's 40 game unbeaten run came to an end on Sunday when they let a 1-0 lead slip. Following a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty in the 67th minute, the team from Madrid ended up losing the game 2-1 in extra time. The comeback started when Sergio Ramos scored an own goal in the 85th minute. Sampaoli's side weren't content with the draw and they punished Real when Jovetic struck the winner in the 92nd minute.

The result has shaken things up at the top of the table. Zidane's side remain top with 40 points, only two ahead of Barça but with a game in hand. Sevilla's last minute winner put them just ahead of FC Barcelona in the league standings in second place on 39 points and the Catalans are now third with 38 points.

PSG's man of the hour

Following Draxler's goal on his first start for his new employers in the French cup, the German international scored the winner on his Ligue 1 debut in the 1-0 victory over Rennes on Saturday. The former Wolfsburg player has signed for the French champions in a deal reported to be worth €42.5M. The signing has been an immediate success and the attacking midfielder helped his new team claim back-to-back wins following a run of three games without a victory.

Unai Emery's side took the lead six minutes before half time thanks to a lovely move finished beautifully from the edge of the box. Adrien Rabiot could have added to the score late on but the team from Paris were content to win by a single goal giving them an important victory. Barça's Champions League round of 16 opponents remain in third place in the table, level on points with second placed Monaco and trailing Nice by three.

Eibar up to ninth

Barça's next La Liga opponent managed to beat struggling Sporting 3-2 thanks to three first half goals. The Basque side, who Barça face next Sunday, started well with an own goal from Álvaro Gonzalez and strikers from Pedro León and Luna before the 24th minute.

Sporting did score in the ninth minute and added another in the second half but they were unable to stop the away side taking home the points which left them in ninth place. Eibar qualified for the Copa del Rey quarter finals at Osasuna's expense for the first time in their history earlier this week and capped a memorable seven days with an important away win on Sunday.

Ahead of the Copa..

Finally, Copa del Rey opponents Real Sociedad face a trip to Málaga on Monday in La Liga ahead of Thursday's fixture against the Copa holders.
