Unconventional workout to end the week

With a slew of players away on international duty, Thursday's session was Barça's last until Monday afternoon

What a way to end a week of training.

With a bevy of first team players globetrotting with their respective national teams this week, those who were on hand at the Ciutat Esportiva Thursday were treated to a workout of a different color.

Apropos to a skills competition, the available first team players — plus the Barça B youngsters Wilfrid Kaptoum, Álex Carbonelll, Dani Romera, and Marlon Santos — took turns flicking balls into iron basketball rims, firing away at bullseyes placed in the upper and lower corners of the goal, and performing other curious feats desgined to test their footballing motor skills.

It was a surefire way for manager Luis Enrique Martínez to ensure the squad had boatloads of fun before enjoying the long weekend. The team will be back out on the pitch Monday afternoon when they begin to prepare for a stretch of pivotal matches in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
