Samuel Umtiti has had a brilliant first year at FC Barcelona – to the extent that the Barça Fans voted him the fourth best player of the season.
Barça TV has created a wonderful video about the French defender and his origins at FC Menival, the club where things started out for him all those years ago.
The 22 minute film speaks to his former friends and coaches, as well as the player himself, as he visits his boyhood home and reminisces about his early days, and the important role that his mother played in his upbringing, as well as his switch to the Olympique Lyon youth structure and the many difficulties he had to overcome along the way.
