Sergio Busquets, away with the Spanish National Team during the current international break, gave a radio interview Thursday in which he answered several questions about FC Barcelona’s successes so far this season.
“We’re on a very good run right now,” he said. “We’re not a picture of perfection, but we’re solid and compact. Teams are having a tough time scoring goals against us, and that makes us happy.”
“The team knows we lost a very important player and we modified our system. Of course there are things you gain and things you lose, but being compact is paramount. That’s how you build a winning team.”
Asked about his teammate, Luis Suárez, Busquets gave nothing but praise. “He has a lot of experience. And beyond his goal scoring numbers, he brings a lot to the field. Sooner or later, he’ll score.
Busquets, who was also asked about his imminent milestone of 450 appearances, showed his humility. “I hope I can keep contributing to Barça and the national team. It makes you feel proud and an important member of the team.”
