Two out of two. LaLiga has announced the winner of the Player of the Month award for September, and the accolade has gone to FC Barcelona forward Raphinha. The Brazilian was voted MVP for the second month of the season through the official LaLiga website.
Winner again!
After taking the award in August, he has done so again following another spectacular set of performances. In Barça's four games in September, he scored seven goals and provided two assists. Those remarkable figures include back-to-back hat-tricks in the last two matches, against Racing Santander (7-2) and Sevilla (1-3).
This is the third time the Brazilian has won the award, having first done so in August 2024. That puts him joint sixth on the all-time list, alongside former Barça striker Robert Lewandowski, among others. Barça have also won the award more times than any other club, with 25 in total, five more than Real Madrid.
Top scorer
Raphinha has once again underlined his status as one of LaLiga's outstanding performers. And the numbers speak for themselves: he currently leads the Pichichi standings with 12 goals, five clear of Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé and Sergio Camello, who are all on seven.
Amazing September
Barça have dominated LaLiga's awards for September, with Hansi Flick and João Cancelo also receiving honours. The German was named Coach of the Month after overseeing another perfect run of victories and extending Barça's lead at the top of the table, while the Portuguese won Goal of the Month for his strike against Racing Santander at Spotify Camp Nou.
