Jules Kounde continues to reach new milestones. With 193 appearances, the Barça defender has drawn level with Eric Abidal as the Frenchman with the most appearances in FC Barcelona history. Starting the 5-1 Champions League victory against Feyenoord saw him equal the record of a man who also spent two seasons as Barça’s sporting director.

Kounde has made 130 La Liga appearances for Barça and 18 in the Copa del Rey, where he scored the winning goal against Real Madrid in the final, as well as eight in the Spanish Super Cup. In European competition, he has made 35 appearances in the Champions League and two in the Europa League.

In those 193 appearances, he has scored 10 goals and provided 22 assists. Kounde is now beginning his fifth season at the club, looking to build on a trophy haul that includes three league titles and one Copa del Rey.
