Three blaugranes nominated for LaLiga awards for August
It's been the best possible August for FC Barcelona with three wins from three games, while putting in some great performances during the first month of the competition. Accordingly, three blaugranes have been nominated for LaLiga awards in August, namely Raphinha, Xavi Espart and Hansi Flick.
Raphinha, top scorer in the league
The Brazilian forward has hit the ground running this season, scoring five in the first three games, making him the current Pichichi i.e. top scorer in the league. The feat has led to him being nominated as best player in LaLiga in August and he is up against Bellingham (Real Madrid), Baena (Atlético Madrid), Aubameyang (Deportivo A Coruña) and Tenaglia (Alavés).
Espart, consistently performing well
When it comes to La Masia player Xavi Espart, he is a candidate in the U-23 category, after completing all three LaLiga matches and providing two assists. The 19-year-old Catalan is up against Javi Hernández (Espanyol), Zabiri (Racing), Miguel Sierra (Sevilla) and Arda Güler (Real Madrid) for the award.
Flick, nominated as best coach
Hansi Flick is also nominated for best coach in LaLiga in August. It makes sense, given the blaugranes lead the competition with nine points out of nine. He is up against Real Madrid coach José Mourinho and Alavés coach Quique Sánchez Flores.
