Messi wins September Goal of the Month for goal against Girona

A new month is over and with that comes another Goal of the Month. September featured three friendlies against Nàstic, Girona and Elche and the first league game at home to Villarreal. We asked you choose from our shortlist of four goals, and the one that goe the most votes was Messi's against Girona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

The other choices were both goals by Ansu Fati against Villarreal and Coutinho's from the game with Girona.

Goal of the Month started in 2020 and has been repeated every month since, with fans choosing their favourite from four proposals. While football was in hiatus due to the coronavirus, we instead offered the chance to vote for the best Barça goal ever in each calendar month. In August we ran a similar Goal of the Season to vote for the best goal of all in the 2019/20 campaign.
