Previous meetings against newly promoted Cádiz

The Andalusian team returns to the first division for the first time since the 2005/06 season

After Zaragoza's defeat this Sunday against Oviedo, Cádiz have been promoted to first division for the first time in 15 years.

The team coached by Álvaro Cervera has several former Barça players in their ranks such as Fali, Alberto Perea and 'Choco' Lozano. A team that has spent much of the season top of the Segunda División has finally secured one of the two automatic promotion places.

Very favourable previous meetings

If we review the official matches that Barça and Cádiz have played, there are 24 precedents, all of them in the league. The balance is clearly in Barça's favour, with 19 games won, 3 draws and 2 losses. As for goals, Barça have scored 57 whilst Cádiz have managed 14. Four of the latter came in one of the two Barça defeats in Cádiz, during the 1990/91 season (4-0). Don't forget that Barça B also played against Cádiz in the 2017/18 season, in the Segunda Division.

As for the last two games, in the 2005/06 campaign, Frank Rijkaard's team won 1-3 at Ramón de Carranza, with a goal from Giuly and a double from Eto'o, Mirosavljevic replying for the hosts. In the second match at the Camp Nou, Barça won with a solitary goal from Ronaldinho (1-0).
