Barça Atlètic went down to defeat in the final of the Copa Catalunya 2026, losing 2-1 to CE Sabadell in the Nova Creu Alta stadium in Sabadell. Juliano Belletti's team fell behind early on only to equalise through Hafiz Gariba. A late goal with just minutes remaining, however, saw the trophy slip away from the blaugranes. 

Tough start 

With just 4 minutes on the clock, Niko Gioacchini put Sabadell ahead with a header from a Miki Codina corner. Barça lost striker Bisiwu early on to injury with the Belgian replaced by Shane Kluivert after 12 minutes.

After a sluggish start, Barça Atlétic started to find their feet and Aziz brought a save from Sabadell keeper Fuoli on the half hour mark. Blaugrana keeper Iker Rodríguez then made a great stop to deny a header from Edgar González. Chances came for Barça with Kluivert and Quer going close but Sabadell kept their 1-0 lead until the break.  

Deserved equaliser 

In the second half Barça came right back into the contest. Landry created a chance for Orian Goren not long after the restart before Hafiz Gariba levelled things up on 56 minutes, reacting first to a loose ball in the Sabadell box. 

Barça continued to have the better of the game. Álex González went close as did Gistau as the game moved into the final quarter of an hour. In the last 10 minutes Sabadell raised their game and with 3 minutes to go Rahmani turned home a loose ball from a corner to make it 2-1. Barça did all they could to come up with an equaliser, Álex Campos ripping a shot just wide, but it was not enough to prevent Sabadell from taking the 2026 Copa Catalunya.
