Emotional farewell message from Konrad

Konrad De la Fuente is leaving Barça after eight years to join Olympique Marseille. But he didn't want to leave without leaving a heartfelt message on social media to the fans and colleagues at a club that has meant and shall continue to mean so much to him.

"A lot of children dream of becoming footballers from a very young age. Childhood innocence means we fail to appreciate the true scope of the huge efforts that we need to make to achieve our dreams.

Today I must make one of those sacrifices I mentioned, and say goodbye to a club that has given me everything and to say farewell to my family for the last eight years, to say goodbye to FCB.

I want to thank FCB for making me so happy during these years, and most of all I want to thank the team-mates with whom I have shared a dressing room and all the people I have met. You are the true identity of this club.

I promise I will always wear the badge on my chest and wherever I go I shall share the values that FCB has taught me with such affection and dedication.

I hope our paths cross again someday.
