FC Barcelona has reached an agreement to renew the contract of Montenegrin goalkeeper Lazar Carevic. The player will be putting pen to paper shortly at an event in the Estadi Johan Cruyff to be attended by board member Xavier Vilajoanam who will use the occasion to announce the duration of the new deal and the amount of the buyout clause.
Lazar Carevic came to Barça in the 2017/18 season from OFK Grbalj of the First League of Montenegro, having played 30 games in his previous season, conceding just 23 goals and keeping 15 clean sheets. He is an U21 international for Montenegro and after a year with the Barça U19A team he was promoted to Barça B in the 2018/19 season, for whom he has started seven games and let in just six goals. Lazar has made four appearances in the present season.
