Lamine Yamal and Patri Guijarro have been acknowledged as the best players of the 2025/26 season by the Association of Spanish Footballers (Asociación de Futbolistas Españoles, AFE). Both FC Barcelona players receive an individual award after a season when they played key roles for their respective sides.

The 5th edition of the AFE awards took place on 1 September at Florida Park in Madrid and recognises the best players from the different levels of football across the country, with the awards chosen via other players casting their votes.

Lamine, best Primera División player

The blaugrana player was again a force in the 25/26 season, displaying his talent, dribbling and ability to make the difference in big games. The teenager also received the Award for Sporting Trajectory. 

Lamine Yamal was at the AFE Awards ceremony gala, where he received the award in person. He went on to thank his colleagues, emphasising that “there is nothing better than your fellow players voting for you”. The blaugrana number 10 also assured that he can still improve more, and despite potential ups and downs, he will keep working to get better. He was also very clear about the main target this season: “Win the Champions League”.

Patri Guijarro, best Liga F player

Patri Guijarro was also acknowledged as the best player in 2025/26. Her importance to how Barça play was a constant throughout a season when the team was performing at the highest level in all competitions. Patri was a benchmark for a team that keeps adding trophies and reaffirming they are the best women's football team in Europe.
