Barça Atlètic coach Rafa Márquez visits players at Barça Academy Clinic Mexico

The players came to Barcelona from the Barça Academy Camps held last summer around Mexico

The hundred or so young footballers who attended this weekend’s Barça Academy Clinic Mexico received a very special visit from former Barça player and current coach of the reserve team, Rafa Márquez. The players have been training this week at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, and listened attentively to the advice from one of Mexico’s finest ever players, who spoke to them in a very approachable manner and posed for photos with the children afterwards.

The young Mexicans came to Barcelona after being selected from the different Barça Academy Camps held last summer around Mexico, and are in the Catalan capital to enjoy a 100% Barça experience including training sessions at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, visits to the FC Barcelona Museum and Spotify Camp Nou and a wide range of other activities related to the club and the city, ending on Friday with a dinner at the stadium itself.

One of the most exciting moments of their trip was last Tuesday when a giant screen was set up for them in Sala Roma at the Spotify Camp Nou to watch Mexico play Poland at the Qatar 2002 World Cup.

Barça Academy Camps Mexico will be back in Barcelona next March with a second group of players that have been chosen to enjoy this wonderful experience at FC Barcelona.
