Women's football and basketball teams parade trophies at Camp Nou
The two teams present their recently conquered silverware, the Liga Iberdola and Copa del Rey, to the FC Barcelona faithful
A night of confetti at Camp Nou. Before the game with Osasuna, both the Barça women’s football team and the basketball team were on the pitch to celebrate their victories in the Liga Iberdola and the Copa del Rey respectively.
The women were still smiling after their 5-0 defeat of Real Madrid at the Estadi Johan Cruyff had mathematically confirmed that they had retained the trophy, moreover without, to date, losing a single match. To the sound of Campiones! Campiones! from the Camp Nou faithful they paraded a trophy that they have now won three years in a row.
It’s been a little longer since the basketball team won the Spanish Cup in Granada, defeating old rivals Real Madrid in the final.
The parade was accompanied by the club motto Més que un Club being honoured as the men’s football team came onto the pitch wearing shirts reading ‘the line that doesn’t divide, but unites us’ in honour of International Women’s Day this week.
