Club to support recovery of the local industry during the men's trip to Germany and Austria and the women's appearance in the International Champions Cup in the USA

FC Barcelona and the Government of Catalonia, through the Catalan Tourism Agency (ACT) and the Catalan Ministry of Business and Labour, are again joining forces this preseason to promote Catalonia as a tourism destination through its men’s and women’s teams.

On Wednesday, the men began their trip to Germany, where they’ll be playing a friendly with VfB Stuttgart on July 31. Before returning home, they will also be stopping in Austria to face Red Bull Salzburg on August 4.

Meanwhile, the women are off to Portland (USA) to play in the Woman’s International Champions Cup from August 18 to 21, a four-way tournament also featuring Olympique Lyonnais, Portland Horns and Houston Dash.

The Catalonia brand is featuring prominently in both tours, with players and staff wearing the logo on the polo tops that they’ll be wearing between games. The name will also be appearing on advertising hoardings at training sessions and matches and on the backdrops during press conferences.

FC Barcelona and the Catalan Tourism Agency have been working closely together since 2012, but the relationship has obviously taken on particular relevance in the present climate as the club uses its international profile to foster the recovery of Catalonia’s tourist industry and raise awareness of it as a destination.

The tours and being accompanied by a promo video released by the ACT to promote "Catalonia, a place made to measure”, which will be shown on the video scoreboards at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, Stuttgart and the Red Bull Arena, Salzburg, while a creativity associated to the same campaign will be shown on LED screens during the matches.
