Beginning of the process for the collection of signatures in order to stand as a candidate
The nine aspirants now have the ballot papers to collect the 2,257 signatures necessary to allow them to stand as candidates for the Barça presidency
The nine aspiring candidates in the Barça elections for president passed by the OAB office to collect the ballot papers provided by the club to put together the necessary number of signatures to be allowed to stand in the elections.
As of this moment, Joan Laporta, Jordi Farré, Agustí Benedito, Emili Rousaud, Xavier Vilajoana, Antoni Freixa, Víctor Font, Lluís Fernández and Pere Riera have become precandidates for the Barça elections. The nine aspirants need to have 2,257 signatures of support to be allowed to stand as candidates in the elections on 24 January.
To make the electoral process easier over the Christmas period, the Club has slimmed down the business of giving out the ballot papers and today the papers requested by the nine precandidates have been handed over.
The deadline for the collection of signatures is on Monday 11 January. The signatures will be validated over a period of three days and on 14 January the candidates who will take part in the elections on 24 January for the FC Barcelona presidency will be announced.
Consult the census on line
Also from 23 December until Sunday 27 December, the electoral census will be available to members via the Club's website in the on-line service and on 23 and 24 December it will also be available at the OAB office. During this period members can also confirm their own presence on the census and make any necessary claims due to omissions or other such errors.
Polling station allocation and change of address
Each member who has the right to vote will have their polling station assigned according to their residence details in the Club's database. Should a member wish to change their address and therefore possibly their polling station, they can do so until 14 January via the on-line service.
