‘Barça, The Exhibition’ takes visitors to the Camp Nou using immersive technology

Exhibition being launched worldwide next 5 March 2021 in Mexico City and will then travel to other Mexican cities followed by other countries

FC Barcelona is remaining loyal to its goal of taking the club closer to its fans all around the world. And with that comes Barça, The Exhibition – Feel our passion, a travelling exhibition that uses a combination of interactive experiences and immersive technologies to take visitors on a unique journey through blaugrana history. It is a new project that will help the club to boost its brand worldwide and that will be launched in Mexico City on 5 March 2021, where it will be open until June 1 of the same year.

The exhibition will then go on an eight-month tour of the country, to Guadalajara, Monterrey and Puebla, followed by other Latin American countries and on to the rest of the world.

Barça, The Exhibition, produced by FC Barcelona in collaboration with the entertainment and events company Proactiv, is an experience designed using the most advanced technologies to attract ‘culers’ and football fans in general to learn more about the club’s history and values. In nine different rooms, visitors will listen to an audio-guide presented as an elderly man telling his grandchild about the team’s greatest achievements, and even going together to see a game at the Camp Nou, all thanks to a 360º space that creates the illusion of being inside the stadium.

Visitors also get to enjoy interactive games in the Play Barça zone and explore the Making History section, a hall of fame where they can admire trophies, the Ballon d’Or, and other articles used and signed by Barça legends.

La Masia, the place where the club teaches its playing style and values, and a global benchmark, also gets a space inside the exhibition. It uses a special technology to get visitors to feel part of the club’s history, while there are other areas that present the style of play that distinguishes Barça all around the world.

Finally, there is a futuristic zone that showcases the club’s work in the field of R+D, including the Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB), the sports knowledge platform and innovation laboratory designed to improve athlete performance and create products and services that can benefit not just the club but also society in general. And not forgetting an official Barça store, where visitors can purchase a wide range of Barça merchandising and retail products, as well as exclusive collections.

Statement by Oriol Tomás, vice-president of the FC Barcelona Commercial Area

“We know that a lot of people never get the chance to travel to Barcelona to visit the Camp Nou and the Barça Museum. That why we are so proud to announce a project like Barça The Exhibition, which will enable us to take FC Barcelona, its history and its values to fans around the world. And we are doing that using the latest technologies to offer a series of immersive experiences that will make it possible for fans to enjoy all the details in a truly unique way.

We are also very pleased to be able to hold the global launch of the exhibition in Mexico, where there is such a huge passion for football and with which we have a historic relationship, shown by how the second international tour by Barça was to that very country in 1937. The love for the club in Mexico is shown by the 11 million followers of our social media that are in the country.”
