Barça stars Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Alexia Putellas are the proud recipients this Friday of the Barça Players Awards for fair play last season, a trophy for which since 2018 has included the first team players themselves among the jury.
Ter Stegen: We'll do all we can
On accepting what he described as a ‘lovely trophy’, the German keeper also said a few words about the big changes at the club this week. "We’re listening to new ideas from Quique Setién” he said in reference to the new head coach. “Hopefully he’ll be successful. We’ll do all we can in every game and every training session to stay on top and win things.”

On collecting the women’s award, being presented for the first time this year, Alexia Putellas said that “I would like to thank to players that started out with me. Thanks to President Bartomeu and Maria Teixidor for their commitment to the women’s game. And to the fans for the love and affection that they show week after week. We’ll try to return the favour through the values that Barça represents … We have a big lead in the league that we hope to extend when we go to Atlético Madrid."
Words from the president
Josep Maria Bartomeu was there himself, and commented that “over the years, Ter Stegen has shown us that we have a goalkeeper who is making history and will continue to do so. This award shows what a person he is. Marc sets a fine example.”
And to Alexia, he said "you have witnessed the growth of women’s football. You are ambitious and get that ambition across to the team and the club.”
