Maria Teixidor appears at International Frankfurt Football Summit

Director responsible for Women’s Football participates in session on The Future of Women’s Football at an international meeting between professionals from the football world to analyse the latest trends and opportunities for growth in the sector.

Women’s football, its development and its future challenges were the focus of a talk by FC Barcelona director Maria Teixidor at the fifth edition of the International Frankfurt Football Summit, held today in the German city between different representatives of the football world. 

Teixidor participated in a session titled The Future of Women’s Football before an auditorium of 250 people, where she was joined by Cathrin Gilbert from Die Zeit magazine as moderator to talk about the worldwide development of women’s football and the important role of sports management when it comes to promoting its growth. 

The Barça director, who also the president of the Elmira Calvetó Group created by the club board to honour the historical memory of female Barça supporters and that is named after the first woman Barça member, highlighted the major increase in the visibility of women’s sport and the efforts being made by FC Barcelona to foster equality between male and female athletes in all areas.

The International Football Summit is organised by the ZEIT Publishing Group, whose many German publications include the prestigious weekly Die Zeit and is a meeting point between representatives and specialists from the football world. It is an international forum for debate and analysis of the latest trends in the sector, as well as business and growth opportunities. 

The event was attended by representatives of leading football clubs, such as Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven, as well as the Bundesliga and UEFA.
