Barça and Beko, prize winners at BT Sport Industry Awards for their 'Eat Like a Pro' campaign

This award follows that obtained at the Football Business Awards last November, in the category of ‘Best brand activation involving a club’

Beko and FC Barcelona have been honoured at the latest edition of the prestigious BT Industry Awards in the category of ‘individual or team sponsorship’ for its 'Eat Like a Pro' campaign, which aims to combat childhood obesity worldwide.

The awards were presented last night at a gala held in London and are just the latest recognition of this programme run by FC Barcelona main partner Beko, and ​​which seeks to teach parents and children about the importance of eating a healthy diet. To do so, Eat like a Pro emphasises the need to learn about the importance of good eating habits and healthy diets among boys and girls, encouraging them to imitate the healthy lifestyles of their football heroes.

As part of the campaign, Beko and FC Barcelona have developed several contents in which first team players encourage the consumption of healthy foods within a varied diet by, for example, suggesting different recipes.

FC Barcelona and the Barça Foundation turned to Europe's leading household appliances brand to raise one million euros for UNICEF. This action was carried out on occasion of the Clásico against Real Madrid in May 2018, and involved the first team donning the Eat Like a Pro logo on their sleeves and also on the back of the shirts they wore during the build-up to the clash. Twitter and Instagram users were encouraged to share a publication using the #EatLikeAPro hashtag, and for each share Beko donated one euro to UNICEF. Thanks to this initiative, the campaign achieved major visibility worldwide.
