The NBA lands in Barcelona

The Palau Blaugrana welcomes the Oklahoma City Thunder for a training session ahead of their match with Barça on Wednesday

The NBA has arrived in Barcelona ahead of Wednesday’s meeting between Barça Lassa and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The team from the US arrived at midday on Tuesday and took to the Palau Blaugrana court for the first time where they trained, as well as played with the children from the Catalan Basketball Federation, the Special Olympics and from five schools chosen for their regular visits via the Barça Rookies programme.

Barça Lassa stars Marcus Eriksson and Joey Dorsey were also present, and the former believes his team “feel ready” for the match. “It will be special to play against an NBA team at the Palau Sant Jordi and we always want to play against the best,” said Eriksson.

There will be two ex-Barça men on the opposing side in Alex Abrines and Ersan Ilyasova. The NBA side’s pivot, Enes Kanter, expressed his delight at facing Barça, saying: “It will be spectacular because they have very good fans and are one of the best teams in Europe”.

The Turkish player took the chance to highlight the fact that he is a friend of his compatriot Arda Turan and that he is “a Barça fan”.
