After three straight wins in the Liga Endesa, Barça fell 90–80 to Hiopos Lleida at the Pavelló Barris Nord. Xavi Pascual’s side, buoyed by securing a EuroLeague play-in spot with their win over FC Bayern Munich, came up short in a demanding, back-and-forth game.

Despite the defeat, the blaugrana are already focused on Tuesday’s decisive EuroLeague play-in clash at the Palau Blaugrana against KK Crvena Zvezda (8.45pm CET).

Growing into the game

Barça struggled early, outplayed by an intense and accurate Lleida side that raced into a 17–6 lead. Gradually, though, the visitors settled, tightening up defensively and improving their attacking flow to cut the gap to 24–21 by the end of the first quarter.

In the second period, Barça stepped up and turned the score around with more dynamic play, led by contributions from Will Clyburn, Kevin Punter and Darío Brizuela. Still, Lleida kept pace, and the teams went into halftime with Barça narrowly ahead, 41–46.

Home side find energy

After the break, the intensity remained high, with Lleida regaining momentum, driven by Oriol Paulí, to level the game and edge in front. Barça stayed competitive despite some defensive lapses, but the hosts held a slight advantage heading into the final quarter (65–61).

In the closing period, Lleida’s stronger finish made the difference. Led by Paulí, the home side pulled away with a decisive run against a struggling Barça defence. Late three-pointers from Brizuela kept Barça in contention, but Lleida controlled the final minutes to seal a 90–80 win.
