Casademont Zaragoza 85-83 FC Barcelona: Winning streak ends

After ten consecutive victories, the basketball team suffer defeat in the Liga Endesa

Barça have suffered just their fourth defeat and their first in ten games in the Liga Endesa after Casademont Zaragoza got the better of them in a game that way delayed by almost an hour due to a technical error with the possession clock.

In a game that the Catalans never led, Zaragoza led by 23 at one point, but in the end just two points split the teams.

With no buzzer to signal the end of possession, the game eventually re-started regardless, and a plugged in Zaragoza stormed clear, almost doubling Barça's score at the break.

An excellent 6/7 in 3-pointers in the third period got Barça back into contention, but Zaragoza were still finding plenty of answers at the other end.

An impressive Laprovittola helped cut the difference down to 13 going into the final ten minutes. Barça saved the best for last. Still nine down with four to play, they produced a final charge. The momentum was certainly with them to produce a stunning comeback win, but the time was not. When the clock had finally run down to zero, there were just two points in it. But they were two points too many.
