Lenovo Tenerife 60-75 Barça: The winning mood continues

Two days after defeating Real Madrid, the Catalans are victorious in the Canary Islands

Barça won away to Lenovo Tenerife on Sunday on the base of strong defence and dominance of the rebounds, with Nikola Mirotic excelling as usual with 18 points and six rebounds. Hayes-Davis had 14 and five, while Dante Exum amassed eight points in his first league appearance.

The game got off to a tight start, with Barça doing a fine job of cutting down the Canary Islanders but failing to make the most of their own chances.

But while the second period began 15-14, by the end of it Barça had opened up a 6-point lead. With Mirotic more plugged in they looked altogether more comfortable on court.

Rebounds at both ends were the key to a 12-0 streak that really powered the Catalans into a big lead, although former Barça man Marcelino Huertas and his team managed to produce a minor reaction going into the final period.

It was short-lived. Tenerife never really looked like they were getting back into this game and Barça eventually took it by 15.

That was a win in the first of three games in six days, and all on the road.
