San Pablo Burgos 69-83 Barça: A perfect week

Good away win hand Saras' team third victory of the week

The basketball team picked up a 14-point win at the never-easy home of Hereda San Pablo Burgos, which goes some way to making up for the slip against Valencia Basket in their previous outing. Sertaç Sanli led with 19 points and 11 rebounds while young Rokas Jokubatis racked up 18 points in one of the finest performances for the team.

Barça powered into the game and made their strength show on the paint as they moved into a five-point lead at 21-16.

San Pablo Burgos’s defence was tighter in the second period, but with Sanli excelling in the offensive rebounds and some fine plays from Laprovittola and Jokubatis meant the lead was maintained by the time of the interval

As the game progressed, the home side’s defence just got better and better, and the third period again ended with little to split between the teams, Barça still relying on the advantage built up in the first ten minutes.

Two threes in a row from Sertaç Sanli finally broke the game. Herada San Pablo suddenly found themselves with very few options going into the decisive minutes, and the Catalans instead used that time to get their lead up and over double figures.

The result leaves Barça 10-1 in the ACB, and next up is the EuroLeague at the Palau Blaugrana on Friday against Zalgiris Kaunas.
