Barça 76-70 Obradoiro: Victory to secure second place
At the Palau Blaugrana, Jasikevicius's side won the Liga Endesa match against a combative Galician team
Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic were on fire from the tip-off in a game that delivered on its promise, with the hosts just ahead by 18-17 at the end of the first quarter.
With Smits and Westermann supporting, Barça stepped things up in the second period. The Galicians weren't letting them have it all their own way, but the blaugranes had extended their lead by the break (36-28).
Despite the lead, it was the visitors that came out with the bit between their teeth, scoring solidly in the opening three minutes of the third period without a Barça reply. It was then that Bolmaro came to the fore, helping the hosts to go up by 16 points (53-37), their biggest margin of the match.
With six minutes to go in the final period, Obradoiro had, incredibly, pulled the score back to 62-60, however, consecutive triples by Abrines and another by Westermann put daylight between the sides again with a minute left. Barça's next league game is this Sunday, May 9 (12.30pm CEST) at the Betis court.
