Real Madrid 82-87 Barça: El Clásico is blaugrana!

Jasikevicius' side prevailed in an even and tough match that went right to the wire

Barça won the Clásico in Madrid (82-87). Jasikevicius' side earned an important victory in the ACB League in what was a very even match at all times. Mirotic, with 26 points, was Barça's most outstanding player.

Equal in the first half

The first minutes of the match served to emphasise what a tight game lay ahead, with both teams matching the other for output and baskets. Mirotic was the most active for the visitors in the opening exchanges, with a Barça basket on the horn the last action of the first period.

Barça went ahead at the start of the second period (22-26, min 12), however, Los Blancos were accurate on their triples, and by half time the scores were tied (46-46).

In the second half, Mirotic maintained his great offensive effort, but any differences on the scoreboard were minimal for both teams, the match heading into the final period with Real Madrid having a slight advantage (65-64).

Great last period

In the last quarter, Barça took the game to their hosts and soared ahead by 10 points (72-82, min 36). There was still time for Real Madrid to narrow the gap to just four points (80-84, 40 minutes), but Barça managed to hold onto and extend the lead in the last seconds.
