Barça had their work cut out against a very impressive Red Star side, and had to fight right until the end for their eventual 86-82 victory.
Barça's great opening period
Red Star dominated the opening exchanges, but the hosts were quickly into their stride and were back on level terms midway through the first period (11-11, min 6). Some superb counter attacks which Mirotic was at the heart of saw the Catalans motoring along, and they'd built up a 10-point lead before the whistle (29-19).
The visitors began to take advantage thanks in part to dominating the rebounds, and by half-time, they'd edged ahead by a point (41-42). More of the same in the third quarter with Red Star dictating the rhythm and staying ahead with the minimal advantage.
Barca record
The last 10 minutes was a see-saw battle and the final result might've gone either way. Barça's decision making is ultimately what won them the game, with Paul Ribas' triple at the death taking the game out of Red Star's reach.
