Barça Lassa 88 – 71 Delteco GBC: Win to stay in touch at top

Pesic's team overcome the Basque outfit and now wait on the results of other matches to see if they can finish top in the regular season

Barça Lassa dispatched Delteco GBC by 88 to 71 at the Palau Blaugrana in the final of the regular season in the league. Svetislav Pesic's team dominated from the very off and Thomas Heurtel led the scoring with 22 points. The blaugranes still have a chance of finishing opt of the table if Real Madrid and Baskonia both lose their final games of the regular season.

Both sides struggled initially on offence but little by little Barça Lassa found their range at the end of the first quarter they led by 18 to 11. In the second, three pointers from Smits and Kuric opened up a significant gap in the score with the home side 31-16 ahead and that lead was maintained until half time when the sides went in at 42-27.

After the break the Basques came back at the home side and narrowed the game to 48-39. However, quick counters and rapid movement of the ball allowed Barça Lassa to take a 64-48 lead into the final quarter.  In the final period Thomas Heurtel once again came to the fore to guide the team to a 88-71 win, their 26th and final victory of the regular season.
