Morabanc Andorra 79-82 Barça Lassa: Comeback in the Principality

Tremendous second half makes up for an unsteady start and keeps Catalans in contention for regular season top spot

Barça Lassa have beaten Morabanc Andorra (79-82) to go 25-7 in the Liga Endesa and with two games to go, top spot in the regular season remains a heated matter between themselves, Kirolbet Baskonia and Real Madrid. Thomas Heurtel led the way with 19 points.

Mistakes in offence meant the home side took the early initiative, and intense Andorran defending meant they already had a good lead by the end of the first period (29-16).

It was then that Heurtel found his A-game, but never enough to get Barça back within touching distance – at least not before the break.

But a 2-9 streak after the restart tightened things up at last (50-46) and eight consecutive points from Oriola had Barça Lassa on top for the first time in the game. It was a huge psychological blow to the home side, who found the grip of the game slipping quickly away from them. Barça would carry that lead into the final quarter (62-66).

And it was all blaugrana from then on, with the rebounds well under control and three pointers flowing. With three minutes to play, the lead was starting to look definitive (69-77) and despite a late push from Andorra, that indeed proved to be the case.
