Architects b720 Fermín Vázquez take over from Pascual-Ausió Espai Barça project for the future Camp Nou

Once the documentation has been presented to Barcelona City Council to request a Modification to Urban General Plan, Joan Pascual-Ramon Ausió Architects will conclude their role in the project for the future Camp Nou

As part of the ‘Espai Barça’ FC Barcelona project, which includes the construction and design of its integrated sporting complex in the neighbourhood of Les Corts, the Club is working on a complete renovation and extension of Camp Nou.

The team formed by Nikken Sekkei, Joan Pasqual – Ramon Ausió Arquitectes, creators of the winning project in the competition for the design and construction of a new stadium, have been working together with FC Barcelona in the preliminary stage of the design which includes a putting together a project for the future Camp Nou, integrated within the Espai Barça project.

Together with Nikeen Sekkei, Joan Pascual – Ramon Ausió Arquitectes the architectural approach to the future stadium and the adjoining space has been defined in such a way that it will allow future construction and design phases of the project to develop properly.

Once the documentation has been presented to Barcelona City Council to request a Modification to Urban General Plan of FC Barcelona’s land in the district of Les Corts, where the basis and urban limits of the future Camp Nou have been defined, the role of the Joan Pascual-Ramon Ausió Architects in the future Camp Nou project comes to an end.

The Joan Pascual-Ramon Ausió Architects have worked together with Nikken Sekkei and the Club during the last two years to establish the basis for an innovative and pioneering stadium that will go into history when it is complete. The architectural objectives of this fruitful relationship have been to preserve the essence of Barça, remain faithful to the original Camp Nou and find that balance between Catalan architecture, social, economic and environmental sustainability.

In the stage that starts now, in which the construction of the future Camp Nou will begin, the prestigious Architecture Office Nikken Sekkei will continue the project with the help of local and international contributors in order to carry out the remainder of the work. In particular the b720 Fermín Vázquez architects will collaborate with Nikken Sekkei in the construction of the stadium. b720 Fermín Vázquez architect were partners in the construction of the Torre Agbar and the Barcelona Court Justice building and were also selected as finalists for the ideas competition for the future Camp Nou.
