FC Barcelona is the strongest brand in the world of football according to a study carried out by the consultancy Brand Finance.  Over the last 12 months the blaugranes have taken over top spot thanks to the agreements reached with Nike and Rakuten and to the great season the football first have had, winning LaLiga and the Copa del Rey.

The study highlights the Club’s desire to continue growing in strategic countries such as the USA, China and Japan as was set out in a brand study carried out by FC Barcelona itself a few months ago. Similarly, the presence and leadership of a well-known star like Leo Messi who has had another record breaking campaign has been identified as highly important.

As such, the blaugranes have a brand rating of AAA+, moving from a score of 95.4 to the current of 96.6. They are currently situated former leaders Real Madrid (96.4), Manchester United (94.6), Bayern Munich (93.1) and Liverpool (92.2).

The study sets out a ranking of the clubs with greatest brand value. In this table FC Barcelona occupy third place with a value of 1,237 million euros, behind only Real Madrid (1,288 million euros) and Manchester United (1,551 million euros).
