The Palau Blaugrana shows support for the victims of the attacks in Paris

Players and fans express their condolences by observing a minute of silence before Saturday's Champions League handball match

After FC Barcelona had earlier in the day expressed the Club's deepest sympathies for the victims of the attacks that took place in Paris on Friday evening, the Palau Blaugrana took the Club's official response one step further.

Prior to Saturday evening's VELUX EHF Champions League handball game between Barça Lassa and Vardar PRO, the arena held an emotional minute of silence in memory of the scores of victims stemming from the events that unfolded less than 24 hours earlier in the French capital.

In fact, a minute's silence in response to the attacks was observed before all sporting and institutional activities that were held throughout the Saturday at the Club's facilities.

Earlier in the day, at 12.00pm CET, the Club's first vice president Jordi Cardoner was on hand for an act of condemnation jointly convened by the Government of Catalonia and the Barcelona City Council at Plaça Sant Jaume in the centre of Barcelona. FC Barcelona also declared that all its flags would be flown at half staff throughout the day.
