The new FC Barcelona president will occupy the role that he filled between 23 January 2014 and 9 June 2015

The candidacy of Josep Maria Bartomeu has emerged victorious after the elections of 18 July and that means that FC Barcelona member 16,331 will occupy the position of president, a role he fulfilled between 23 January 2014 and 9 June 2015, at which point the Managing Commission led by Ramon Adell took control of the Club.

Bartomeu became president of FC Barcelona on 23 January 2014, that date on which Sandro Rosell presented his resignation. The man who had been vice president up to that point, assumed the post of president for 16 months (half of the season 2014/15 and the season 2015/16).

His career

Aside from being president, he has fulfilled various other roles at FC Barcelona.  Between 2003 and 2005 he was the director responsible for the handball and basketball sections and in 2010 he returned to the Club as sporting vice president.

Married and father of two, he’s a partner and CEO of the ADELTE Group (port and airport engineering, worldwide leader of boarding and design of large transport vehicles) and EFS, Equipo Facility Services (group of system maintenance and electromechanical equipment businesses).
