Two weeks after the formal opening of the stadium came the first official game at Camp Nou. Expectation was high after the inaugural unofficial match to christen the new ground, now came the first bona fide test in the Club’s new surroundings. The league game against Jaén saw the Barça fans turn up in hordes, almost filling it to capacity for the fourth round of matches in la Liga. The team responded with a thrilling 6-1 win over the Andalusians, Villaverde, Tejada (2), Kubala and Eulogio Martínez were on the scoreboard for the blaugranes on that historic day at Camp Nou.
