Camp Nou set to be a hive of activity on election day

Photos with the treble trophies, an exclusive stadium tour and the chance to walk on the pitch and just a few of the more than twenty activities lined up for the big day

Saturday 18 July is the day of presidential elections at FC Barcelona, and there will plenty to do at the Camp Nou apart from casting votes. From 9.00am to 9.00pm there will be no fewer than 24 different activities for people of all ages to enjoy in and around the stadium, divided into three categories: premium, children and general.

The premium activities include the chance to have your picture taken with the Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League trophies won last season. There is also a very special stadium tour that includes the presidential box and the first team changing room and the chance to walk on the pitch. Children aged 5 to 14 will even get the opportunity to have shots on goal!

There will be two special children’s areas. One will feature a number of different games with an aquatic theme, which should help keep cool on what is expected to be another scorching hot day. The other involves different crafts and such attractions as the ‘shootometer’ and ‘jumping kids’.

Older visitors can have fun with body painting, graffiti and fast-football, as well as other activities related to handball, basketball, roller hockey and futsal.

There will also be plenty of music and other shows to keep everyone in the mood, plus free catering for members and their guests. Food and drinks will be served from 9.30am to 11.30am (breakfast) 1.30pm to 4.30pm (lunch) and 6.30pm to 8.30pm (supper).

What to bring

To vote, all you need to bring is your national ID card or passport, but for you and up to two guests to take part in the activities you will also need to show your membership card, so members are advised to bring those along too. Your membership cards will also entitle you to free parking on the Camp Nou facilities.

Free travel

In order to ensure the best possible turnout for the elections, the club is also laying free busses to transport members from the cities of Girona, Lleida and Tarragona. There will be one departure from each of these places at 9.00 am and another at 3.30pm. You must book this service before July 12 at 7.00pm using a form that you’ll find on the FC Barcelona website, or by contacting the OAB either in person or by phone.
