Jordi Moix, new secretary of Board of Directors

At today's board meeting, Jordi Moix was named as the replacement for former secretary Toni Freixa

The Board of Directors decided at today’s ordinary meeting to make Jordi Moix its new secretary, as well as president of the Disciplinary Commission. Toni Freixa, who has sat on the board since it won the elections in 2010, has departed.

Moix was assistant director of the Economy and Patrimony Department, where he was one of the main figures in promoting the new Espai Barça. He will continue to work in that role along with his two new positions.

Jordi Moix (Barcelona, 12 November 1960) has a degree in Business Sciences from ESADE and a masters in International Management from the Thunderbird Graduate School in the USA. He has always worked in the real estate business and was the founding partner of Linq Venture (M&A and Real Estate consultants), having previously been director general of international promotion and expansion at Reyal Urbis (a leading company in the sector); director general in Catalonia for Metrovacesa (he was president of La Maquinista Vila Global SA); director general and member of the administrative council at Layetana, and director general of Habitat. He currently sits on the executive committee at Barcelona Urban Cluster-BUC, and was formerly president of the executive committee at ULI (Urban Land Institute) and has been a member of the Cercle d’Economia since 1988. Other issues

As well as the changes in functions, Manel Arroyo also explained that the club will be sending a letter to the president of the National Pact on the Right to Decide, Joan Rigol, to reassert the stance that Sandro Rosell made regarding the political future of Catalonia at the 2013 assembly.

It was also reported that FC Barcelona has received the grounds for the verdict issued by the FIFA Appeals Tribunal. “The Legal Services are currently working on the appeal that will be presented over the next few days to the Sports Tribunal” explained Moix. “We obviously still have some discrepancies.”

On the Neymar matter, Manel Arroyo explained that the board has met the club attorney who is working on the matter, Cristòbal Martell. “After debating the situation we have decided that the club should continue to work on getting the case to the Administrative Court” said Arroyo.

Finally, the Board also presented the different actions that the Edelmira Calvetó Group will be promoting this season to promote and foster a greater role for women at the club.
