Between 14 and 18 January the National Soccer Coaches Association of America held their convention and Barça were more then well represented. The annual event brings together thousands of people involved in the game in the United States of America. This year FC Barcelona’s Head of Sporting Relations, Pere Gratacós, and the Club’s Director of Methodology, Joan Vilà, added their names to the list of participants by taking part in two conferences in which they explained Barça’s style of play.

Theory and Practice

Pere Gratacós and Joan Vilà were involved in two separate events during the convention. Last Friday Gratacós headed up a conference titled ‘FC Barcelona and how to understand our style of play.’ The following day, Saturday, the activity moved out on to the field of play where Joan Vilà gave a talk entitled ‘FC Barcelona and how to teach our style of play.’

The convention also saw the likes of Péle and Raúl González, amongst others, take part. The Brazilian was there as Honourary President of New York Cosmos and the Spaniard as a current player of said team. Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson was also present to receive an award at the convention.
