Delegates from FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC gathered on Wednesday evening to pay tribute to one of the most storied players to feature for both clubs. Sevilla acknowledged Paco Gallego with a Legend Jersey, an award reserved for the most distinguished players of the team.

Barça also payed tribute to the player who defended the Blaugrana colours for ten seasons. President Sandro Rosell led the FC Barcelona delegation at the Sánchez Pizjuán, and he was accompanied by former players Ramon Alfonseda, Miguel Reina and Migueli.

10 seasons at Barça

Paco Gallego donned the FC Barcelona kit from 1964 to 1975, and he made a total of 425 appearances for the Club. The center back won one league title, two Spanish Cups and one Fairs Cup with Barça. With Sevilla FC, he played 207 matches.

On Valdés' injury

During the event, Sandro Rosell spoke to the president of the RFEF, Ángel María Villar, about the most recent round of international friendlies. “Allow me a joke, there will be no problems if you prefer to to not circle the globe anymore. We can all stay here calmly, close to home. I’ll explode if I don’t say it,” he said in reference to Víctor Valdés’ injury.
