Camp Nou

FC Barcelona members will vote on the future of the Camp Nou, the Palau Blaugrana, and FC Barcelona installations around the stadium this Saturday, 5 April. In addition to voting on the project known as the New Espai Barça, the first team will take on Real Betis at the Camp Nou after the polls close.

What is the Espai Barça

The Espai Barça project goes well beyond the reconstruction and remodeling of the Camp Nou. In addition to increasing the capacity of the current stadium to 105,000 and completely remodeling the current structure of the Camp Nou, the Espai Barça project entails building a new Palau Blaugrana with a capacity of 12,000, an additional court with a capacity of 2,000, an ice rink, a new Social Area, a new Commercial Area, revamped Club offices, La Masía and adding 5,000 parking spaces. If the proposal is approved, the year for completion of the New Espai Barça is 2021, as seen in the below graph:

Where to vote

The esplanade leading to the Auditori 1899 will host all the voting tables for the referendum. This means that members cannot vote at the Miniestadi or the Camp Nou, where previous votes were held. The reason for the change of location is to ease the voting process by guaranteeing accessibility to all members who choose to vote – the space is not isolated by stairs or architectural barriers.

ID required to vote

It’s worth noting that only Club members who are registered in the definitive Club census approved but the Consultation Board can vote in the New Espai Barça referendum. In addition, members must bring a valid form of identification to the polls. Valid forms of ID are limited to the following documents: passport, DNI card, drivers license, or Club membership card. It is not required for members to present their Club membership cards to vote, but it’s recommended to bring the membership card along in order to gain access to exclusive member events and activities.

Blaugrana party before Betis clash

The hours leading up to kick off against Betis on Saturday will have a festive air about them. The Club has programmed a series of events and activities for Club members that will start just after noon and end right before the league game against Betis gets underway (6:00 PM CET).

In addition, members will be able to enjoy a 25% discount off merchandise from the FCBotiga Megastore from 9:00 AM CET to 4:OO PM CET.
