Barça, through its vice president of the social area, Jordi Cardoner, has expressed its condolences for Wednesday’s train accident in Galicia and has sympathised with the families of the victims. “It is a sad day following the rail accident in Santiago. From here, in the name of the institution and my fellow board members, we send our most sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims”, he said. “FC Barcelona, like any other sports club, is sensitive to accidents like these that remind us so much about our priorities in life”.

Minute’s silence before training

In addition to the sympathy expressed by the board, the Barça first team observed a minute’s silence before training in the Bislett Stadion, Oslo. The players will all be wearing black armbands in Saturday’s game with Valerenga in memory of the victims of the tragic accident, and there shall be another minute’s silence before the match starts.

Many of the players have all expressed their own condolences in the form of messages sent from their social network accounts.
