USAP and Toulouse, current Top 14 champions, faced off against each other this afternoon for the fifth match-day of the French league. The North Catalans had only won one match - against Bayona - from their four league games before this afternoon’s match.

Explosive start

Both teams started strong. In two minutes, Toulouse took the lead thanks to a penalty goal transformed by McAlister (0-3). In the next play, USAP captured the ball and FaridSid scored the first try of the match (5-3). Guiry, Guirado and Strokosh all scored to give USAP a 27-6 lead at the break.

Catalan fury

At the start of the second half, USAP kept up the pressure. Haugthon scored another try for the Catalans, but Toulouse hit back immediately after (34-13). Despite the French team’s resurgence, USAP managed to hold onto their lead. The Catalans closed out the game with a 34 to 20 in their favour, thus securing their second win of the season.
