The Sant Jordi sports center in Torredembarra will be the venue for the first game of the veterans Indoor Liga Fertiberia. The first game of the season pits RDC Espanyol against FC Barcelona on Saturday at 12.15. The match will be broadcast live by TV3. Tickets to the derby start at 2€, all proceeds will go to Cáritas.

The newest additions to the Indoor Liga Fertiberia are the two internationally renowned foreign teams, Mexico’s Club América and Portugal’s Porto. Therefore, this season, 12 teams will battle it out to win the title. There are two groups made up of six teams:

Group 1: Deportivo de La Coruña, Sevilla, Sporting de Gijón, Celta de Vigo, Málaga and Porto

Group 2: Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Valencia, Atlético de Madrid, Espanyol and Club América

The first four teams of each group will go on to the knock-out phase. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played in April and the championship match will be played on May 18.

TV3 will broadcast all of the Barça Players Association matches. TV3 will also disseminate its coverage of the tournament through Intereconomía TV and Televisa Deportes Network (coverage in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean) and Porto TV (coverage in Portugal).

Squad for the derby

The Barça Players Association has some legendary names in their squad this year: Eusebio, Amor, Nadal, Oscar García, Milla, Sergi Barjuan, Ezquerro and Pinilla, and many more. The players named to Barça’s squad for the derby are:

Javier Villena Mulero will be the manager and Albert Luque, injured, will support the team. Julio Alberto Moreno will be the Barça Players Association representative director.
